I think we can all agree the pumpkin trend has gone too far. After going to Trader Joe’s this weekend and seeing an entire aisle of pumpkin-flavored goods I think I am officially pumpkined-out.
…except when it comes to skincare. I first heard Vivianna Does Makeup mention the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask a few months back and when she mentioned that it smells like a pumpkin pie, I bought it immediately. This stuff does in fact smell exactly like pumpkin pie, which could either be a selling point or a major deterrent depending on how tired you are of the gourd this year.
The mask has a jelly-like texture with micro gritty particles throughout. When you apply it to the face, you will definitely feel it working and the heat gets a little intense if you’re feeling particularly sensitive. If you can tolerate the burn, however, you’ll be rewarded with a seriously smooth visage. This is one of my go-to masks if I feel something brewing under my skin because it exfoliates in 3 separate ways: pumpkin enzymes exfoliate deep layers of the skin, the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) acts as a peel, and the aluminum oxide’s gritty texture polishes the surface layer. This super powerful mask is one of the most cost effective ones that I own because you need only a tiny bit for one application and it comes in an enormous 5 oz tub. I’m guessing this mask will last me well over a year and I will definitely repurchase when the time comes.
Will you be trying this mask? What other fall-themed masks have you been loving?
